Walt Becker is a missionary with Action International who teaches biblical training methods to isolated church leaders. His most recent trip included sharing Estante with a group of church leaders in Orissa, India.
MAF-LT staff, Jay Clark, has been helping Walt learn how to use Estante effectively in his ministry. “Estante has enabled dozens of indigenous pastors to demonstrate and pass on the training they were able to receive in person.” In January 2014, Walt traveled to Orissa, India for a pastor’s conference. The goal of the conference was to equip the pastors with biblical content and training from Action International and to put the training resources on tablets within Estante.
Once again we complete another orbit of our Sun and start a new cycle. Ironically, time itself doesn’t age, but we do. We’ve seen all this before, know the drill, start each new year dreaming hopes and making promises. And each time reality grabs us by the scruff of the neck, gives us a good shake, and tosses us down saying, “Forget all that. Nothing ever changes. You’re not going anywhere.”

We train trainers so that they can train others.
As a ministry team, we are committed to help the Church grow around the world and our efforts are focused on those church leaders who are isolated. This is why we work hard to make our training easy to use, cost effective, and easy to teach to others.
Monday we released Estante ™ and I’m amazed. This Android ™ app puts whole libraries--piles of books, images, videos, sound files and documents--right into my hand. It automatically organizes all my stuff so I can find what I want quickly. And then, I can read it. No downloading to big screens necessary.
Nick Frey, serving with MAF in West DRC reports:
We recently started using LT’s Estante program as part of our monthly meetings with our hanger staff. I had received the program and Bible study software while at the IT conference in Uganda. Looking over the material I thought that our staff could really benefit from the topics of marriage and stewardship especially.
Recently Tripp Flythe (MAF pilot in Kalimantan, Indonesia) wrote about MAF-Learning Technologies. Here's a reprint of his post along with a cool pic.
